Daeshik does die despite doctors’ attempts to resuscitate him.
And his death is initially classified as a natural death (possible cause from his asthma) but things take an abrupt turn when OhSoo yells at the teemjangnim (Team Leader) saying something is fishy because when he first entered Daeshik’s office, he could strongly smell the smell of gas.
Seungha sends Sora (the little girl) back to her mother and her mother questions her about the bear and who gave it to her. The little girl denies that the scary ajusshi (daeshik) gave it to her but instead says it was a kind ajusshi who gave it.
The team also obtain a search warrant to search reporter Sung Joonpyo’s house. Ohsoo concentrates on looking for the pair of scissors bound in red thread that HaeIn describes but with no success. However, Minjae and Jaemin (omo I realised their names are anagrams of one another… hmm) distract him and tell him they have found a pair of shoes and card similar to that of the person who has slipped the card key under Lawyer Kwon’s door.
They then bring Sung Joonpyo down for questioning but he denies everything and his alibi ultimately checks out. Ohsoo also tells Minjae he feels convinced that Sung is telling the truth. Minjae asks him why and he says, I can tell by his eyes. The police team begin to suspect that Sung is but a smokescreen for the real murderer…
Disheartened and guilt-ridden, Ohsoo looks for HaeIn. There were 2 encounters: one in the immediate aftermath of Daeshik’s death where he looks for her in the deep of the night just as HaeIn is awakened by a recurring dream. It is pouring and Ohsoo is soaked. She brings him an umbrella and queries if he is alright. He looks at her wordlessly and declines her offer for the umbrella and instead sprints off into the rainy night. (OMG. this part was hooooooot. UTW wub.gif Talk about chemistry) HaeIn returns to the house and gets gentle teasing from her mother about who the guy is. She tells her mother she will explain later.
The second encounter is just after Seungha sends her to Galanthus and she finds Ohsoo waiting for her. She tells him not to feel guilt as the encounters are not his fault etc and he finds comfort in her words.
Upon HaeIn’s psychometric readings, we learn that a mother was looking for Sora and she barges into Daeshik’s room demanding for her daughter. He denies and she shakes him. A few sequences later, a gas gun is in her hands and she pulls the trigger…
Meanwhile, back at the police station, the mother rings Yoon Daeshik’s cell and wants to speak to him. Minjae answers the phone and hedges, saying Yoon is unavailable to talk and asks who it is. The woman presses on about his health and when Minjae asks her once more who she is, she hangs up.
Kim (ex-convict) goes to visit HwuiSoo and his wife gets nervous… refusing to let Kim into the house as he has seen her and thinks of her as Sukjin’s lover… Hwuisoo gives Kim money and they run unexpectedly into Ohsoo’s father who snubs him.
Finally, the team leader and his ex-colleague who now works at Seungha’s law office as an administrator finally meet up after having put off the meet for awhile.. and the ex-colleague queries the team leader about Ohsoo’s background and asks if his father is hotelier Kang…. (ARGH ARGHHH they cut it off here.. I wanted to know this one especially badly T_T)
And Ohsoo gets a delivery of old pictures and HaeIn receives the empress card….
